Butthole Surfers are included in a new book by author Michael Azerrad titled Our Band Could Be Your Life: Scenes from the American Indie Underground, 1981-1991. The book was released a few months ago and features many great punk and indie bands, such as Sonic Youth, Fugazi, The Big Boys and others.

A new article titled "Music for the Asses" has appeared in the latest issue of REVOLVER magazine. The article refers to a book which is to be released later this year and will feature the Butthole Surfers. I'm unsure if the book is about the Butthole Surfers alone or not.

One of my favorite bands, THE MELVINS have covered the Butthole Surfers song "Cherub" from the album Psychic Powerless... Another Man's Sac. The song is available for download at the Melvins website. Go get it! It's great.

The latest news indicates that the summer/fall release of the new album has been postponed indefinitely. According to King the album is not even close to complete. Click here to read the complete article.

#1  The Butthole Surfers are featured on the new Mission Impossible 2 soundtrack. The song is titled "They Came In", which appears to be a song from the After the Astronaut album.

Gibby is featured in the new April 2000 issue of Playboy. I'm unsure what exactly in the issue is regarding the Butthole Surfers, but he's most definitely there.

An article titled "Butthole Surfers: Disney and the Surfers Shoot for Post-"Pepper" Fantasia" has appeared in the January 14, 2000 issue of the Austin Chronicle. The article discusses their new album and the direction they will be taking with it. It also mentions their new label Surf Dog/ Hollywood and other little things.
